Is what we talk about confidential?
Yes. All information raised in therapy is confidential and cannot be released to a third party without your written permission, except where disclosure is required/allowed by law.

Do you have late afternoon or early evening hours? Or weekend hours?
Currently, the only appointment times available are on Saturdays.

Will my insurance cover therapy or counseling services?
At this time, Joey does accept some insurance carriers and she can provide a bill for you to submit to your insurance company to request a reimbursement. Please note that determining if your insurance carrier will reimburse you is something that you should research for your own benefit, prior to initiating treatment. Joey does not provide that information. Some insurance will reimburse for some therapy or counseling.

Are pre- and post-adoption counseling services available?
Absolutely. Adoption is a profoundly life changing experience and preparing for the adoption can greatly reduce stress for families of adoption. Many questions come up in the post-adoption period and counseling during this period is also recommended.

Do you provide on-line therapy or counseling?
No. Psychotherapy is about relating on a human level and, electronically, this vital piece of the process is lost.

Do you search for birth family?
No…Joey has had the honor of participating in several reunions between adoptees and their birth family but she is not a searcher. Joey's role is to provide emotional support and guidance through this intensely emotional process, for everyone touched by adoption: adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents, and others.
